At a workshop in Kolkata the children were asked to draw their favourite animals on a card. This was Barsha’s lion, with the card addressed to her mother who is no longer, with a message to say she loves her. She believes the lion will protect her and eat away people who tease her or beat her. When asked “who beats you?” She replied “my father”.
