When is ENOUGH, ENOUGH?
We
at POW have been extremely shocked and saddened by the brutal Delhi
gangrape that happened on 16 December 2012. As we mourn the death of the
lady who died as a result of the horrific injuries inflicted on her by
her rapists, we mourn with a resolve to join hands to change things for
the better. We are likewise appalled at the child rape cases that have
been coming to light in India. As a charity that work with children in
India we want the protest voices, the voices that are clamouring for a
change in India's archaic rape laws, for a change in the overtly
patriarchal mindset, to reach a crescendo.
When the Indian Parliament reconvenes for the budget session on 21 February 2013 the pressure must be kept up on all Parliamentarians to ensure the recommendations made in the Justice Verma Committee report have teeth. Our voices must grow louder. This page will include voices to this effect
